One of our members, L. Dennis, is a fully trained Audiologist from America, and he was keen to put his training to good use here in Thailand. To this end a project was developed with the aim of helping needy people in the local community who have hearing difficulties.
L. Dennis already had his own testing equipment, and this has recently been supplemented by a group screening audiometer which was a generous gift from a Lions group in Hastings, England. L. Dennis has trained a small group of fellow Lions in the use of this equipment. The Hastings group have also supplied us with reconditioned hearing aids as part of their commitment to helping people with hearing difficulties around the world.
We also have close ties with the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and Dr Mukda Pattana-
We would like to develop this project further and are actively seeking other individuals for testing. If you know of any people or groups of people who might benefit from this work, please drop us a line.
